Priesthood of All Believers

Also known as the ‘Universal Priesthood’, this denotes that all  Christians are priests and not all believers. A priest is a mere clerical assistant: and nothing more.  Furthermore, the Catholics designed a priesthood of men, not consecrated by God, which elevates its self above other believers and even makes believe that it can mediate between God and men: even though we clearly read that Jesus is the only mediator between God and men. But today we all know better, due to the abuse scandals that revealed many of them (+/-40%) as undercover, pervert frauds. 

Know ye that the priesthood of God (Aaron/Levi) was a ‘God-Consecrated Priesthood’.  Jesus did not establish a priesthood, but the Gospel teaches that all Christians are equal and so if one is a priest of God (consecrated) then all are consecrated priest of God: and this can only be a metaphor for the repented and baptised: The Christians. Meaning, the everlasting priesthood of Jesus, is obtainable through faith, repentance, and baptism.

The symbolic priesthood Paul refers to is the ‘Holy Priesthood of all ‘Christians’, not just believers: for he quotes ‘Holy’.

Peter: “You also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.  Cliff: as living stones, they are the elements of a spiritual house, and a holy priesthood, both to offer sacrifices to God, through Christ.  

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,  Cliff:  the chosen generation is the generation of Christ (now), the term royal priesthood is distinguishing this priesthood from its common and non-Christian counterparts, and the terms ‘Holy Nation’ denotes the Christians (the repented and baptised holy beings, having ‘received the baptism’) within the mix.

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light”.

In the Gospel, we read that Christianity is assigned the metaphor ‘Everlasting Priesthood’. Then we also read that Christians, after they have resurrected and reside in the Kingdom of Heaven, will be priests of God.

HEB 7: 24
But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

REV 20: 6
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
