The Elect

The ‘Elect’ are the persons who have believed the Gospel, have repented, and have baptised in the name of Jesus Christ, as Jesus demands they do.  The proof we read in the following excerpts:

LUK  18: 7  And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

PE1  1: 1
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

PE1  1: 2  Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied

JO2  1: 1  The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth;

JO2  1: 13  The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen.

COL  3: 8  But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
COL  3: 9  Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

Revelation 17:14  DR
These shall fight with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them, because he is Lord of lords, and King of kings, and they that are with him are called, and elect, and faithful.

It is very clear that the writers and speakers communicate to the Christians and not to any other people who we can identify as ‘Elect’.  More proof we receive from the following quote from Jesus:

Many are called but few are chosen!  We are all called to believe without to see, then repent and baptise for the remission of sin, thus receiving the gift of the holy ghost.  Many hear, but they do not believe: and so they are called, but are not chosen, for they deny the truth.

MAT  22: 14  For many are called, but few are chosen.

MAT  20: 16  So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

JOH  6: 63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
JOH  6: 64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.
JOH  6: 65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.  (Cliff:  ‘Elected’).
JOH  6: 66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
